A Successful Staging Project!

In 2022 I had the pleasure to take on staging this lovely property on the west side of Peterborough. It’s a good example of just how much value a little effort can add to the house you are selling. I was lucky enough to have a seller who took my advice with suggestions.

They entrusted me to organize trades to come in and get some work done; we painted throughout, replaced some carpet in bedrooms, vinyl in lower bathroom, one new vanity and one new sink and counter in primary ensuite. Then my team and I brought in furniture and decor and pulled the whole vision together. Check out the transformation below!

Living Room and Entry:

The tenant who was living in the house at the time of the before photos had dark furnishings and there was wear and tear throughout. We had a painter in to brighten up the space, opened up the window treatments, and took away the extra large area rugs. We staged with light and bright furnishings to show the height, keeping things neutral with some colourful accents to add to visual interest.

Kitchen and Dining Room

The kitchen was a great space with lots of potential, but the island made it feel small- so we took it out. This made a huge difference. Then we freshened up the cupboards with some paint, replaced two light fixtures, opened up the window coverings and added some decor to help people envision themselves living in the space.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The bathrooms were in the roughest shape from a ton of wear and tear. We replaced one whole vanity and tap, painted and changed the counter and sink out of the other vanity, and the half bath on the main floor got new flooring. You will also notice that the light fixture is the same in one of the bathrooms. These are back in style! It just needed some new bulbs. New carpets were installed in bedrooms and dark window treatments removed. Then after some decorating and voila, you have a lovely family home, all cleaned up and ready for the next owner to enjoy.
